SO I finally made it down to Connecticut to visit some of my dearest friends. Christiane and I have knows each other since middle school, and we were roomates together in college at the University of Central Florida. That’s where she met Joe, her fiance, and now they both work for JetBlue and are awesome.  It was snowing almost the enitre five hour drive from Bangor Maine to Berlin Connecticut, but the drive was quite pleasant! Once I got there, we ventured out to explore the city. We have both tamed out in the past few years, and the place…

Travel in numbers. The Ranger took this of us on our way up – before we started the trek. 7 am – ish. Plan to camp in advance. AND CERTAINLY BRING  A HEADLIGHT WITH BATTERIES IN CASE OF 16 HOUR HIKE. Great end to a great night….16 hours later. As I was entering the final mile I found myself never wanting to see another boulder again….and I said “I’M NEVER DOING THE KNIFE’S EDGE AGAIN….” After the bonfire, and a glass of wine, we were planning our next trip. <3 DD

One beautiful February day in 2012,  my friend Melissa and I took my old Dodge Durango for a four wheel drive adventure through Millinocket, Maine. We took some of the logging roads so we could see Mount Katahdin.  We explored, we had a beautiful sunset, and it was a great day overall. As I’m writing this in 2016, I couldn’t even tell you where we drove. But it was beautiful!

What else do you need to know? Jan 6 – I resolve to learn more about wine AND RECORD IT. File this under the “Learning Experiments” Tab. I should start a separate tab for this. *Mental Note* For example, tonight I have a lovely bottle of Dona Paula Malbec, from Mendoza, Argentina. Dave, the bar manager here at the lovely establishment where I work (not mentioning names – if you know me, you know where I work!) It got 91 points (out of 100) from Wine Spectator, and it’s sold out. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines We’ve been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can’t live that way Staring at the blank page before you Open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inhibitions Feel the rain on your skin No one else can feel it for you Only you can let it in No one else, no one else Can speak the words on your lips Drench yourself in words unspoken…

Some days, I just love to go exploring. It was a rainy Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday, and I decided to take a photo journey up to Bar Harbor, a 45 min drive up the coast. It was well worth it. I have the rest of the photos on my flickr account, and I’ll edit and send those later, but here are the ones from my iPhone 
