Getting back to balance… Hopefully, as you’re reading this, I’m doing yoga. I’ve been a bit off balance lately, as I am navigating the waters of being an entrepreneur, and I’ve been working on a plan to get myself back to balance. I saved this article recently to re-read at a later date.and I’m glad I did. Dr. Travis Bradberry is one of my favorite people to follow on LinkedIn. His posts speak to me often, and I’m excited to bring these elements back into my routine. Here’s his list.. Drink lemon water. Exercise Disconnect. Eat a Healthy Breakfast (read more…

GUT STUFF. LET’S DISCUSS. I’ve been struggling with gut stuff for many years – I had my gallbladder out about 4 years ago, and that temporarily made things better, but recently, my GI issues have reared their ugly head. Without getting into too much detail my main symptoms are wicked bad heartburn, allergies, phlegm buildup in my throat, emergency bathroom sessions on top of mountains, and basic burning of the esophageal tube after every meal. Recently, I switched over to a plant-based diet, and have been really enjoying it, with the exception of two rather severe days where I almost went…

Hello! So if you’ve known me a while, you know I run this battle between eating healthy (high protein, low carb, low sodium, organic, etc.) and chowing down a Double Cheeseburger. Eating good things is a battle we all have – and quite honestly most things we eat and consume have a level of poison in them. This post is not meant to rant about the “fast food” industry, even though I want to. This post is about an AMAZING new food delivery service called Hungry Root that I love. If you have a palate like mine, this thing will…

I consider myself an artist. This is actually the first time I have ever made this statement. It’s taken me until the Golden Globes 2018 to make this statement out loud. I consider myself an Artist. I’ve spent the first half of my life afraid. Afraid of what others think. Afraid of others hurting my feelings. Afraid of being made fun of for my hair, my weight, how much money we had, if I was smart enough, funny enough, pretty enough, fun enough……unique enough….. and I wasted a LOT of time. I always felt drawn to the arts – but there…

I got a tattoo this month. An entrepreneur tattoo. On purpose. And with meaning. I’d been thinking about what I wanted for my tattoo for years. I have one, from college – my zodiac sign, but it’s on sideways. (Not on purpose.) I’d been planning out a lotus flower tattoo with my friend Sarah – and that one will come. But – I’d decided on getting some coordinates to a place that was VERY meaningful to me. And I’d found just the right person to do it. If you’ve been following me for a while, you might have noticed that…

Hey guys! I am writing about Native Deodorant, a product that I’ve been using for over a year and I honestly couldn’t say enough nice things about it. I was a skeptic for sure about natural deodorant and I’ve tried brands in the past that just didn’t cut it. As you might know from LoveMaineAdventures.com, I get sweaty – a lot. This deodorant has passed every test I’ve put it through. If you’re really super aggressively dirty, you should probably plan to reapply, but otherwise, after many months of wearing it, I can rarely ever smell myself 🙂 For the…

Gaslighting is something a lot of people have experienced, without knowing it’s a thing. I’ve had a rather interesting experience with it – and I thought it was important to share the characteristics of this behavior, so people know that they are not alone, and that it’s definitely not something that they did. According to Psychology Today, Gaslighting is a form of persistent manipulation and brainwashing that causes the victim to doubt her or himself, and ultimately lose her or his own sense of perception, identity, and self-worth. The term is derived from the 1944 film Gaslight, in which a husband tries to convince his…

Hi! I know this post is a little late – (shocking, right?) I initially started it around Mother’s Day… being a childless fun auntie had my brain spinning thoughts around for weeks (months…)  and I had to let them free….. So the reason why we celebrate Mother’s Day is obvious because we all have a Mother – science is not that advanced yet. But the ACT of being a mother is a different thing, and this is where my thoughts are taking me. Some people’s only desire in this life is to be a mother, to give birth to a…

Here are a few words of wisdom from a woman who spent her whole life trying to know herself and to be comfortable in her own skin: “Fear is stupid. So are regrets.” “We should all start to live before we get too old.” “I’m selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I’m out of control, and, at times, hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.” “When it comes down to it, I let people think what they want. And if they care…
