Quotes from Buddha – Monday Motivation

Welcome back to the work week – if you’re working that M-F grind. Mondays I always feel a little nostalgic for the weekend + am planning my carry over from the previous weekends “Crap I didn’t get that done!” I am always a fan of the #MondayMotivation to get back on track + realize that I am not the only one that feels like a hot mess! I got some good feedback from my Dalai Lama and MLK quote posts, so I thought a Buddha quote post was needed. Check it out + share it with someone that needs it 🙂

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”

“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.”

“Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past over and over again.”

“You are the community now. Be a lamp for yourselves. Be your own refuge. Seek for no other. All things must pass. Strive on diligently. Don’t give up.”

“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”

“What we think, we become.”

“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”

“It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.”

“A jug fills drop by drop.”

“There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting.”

Cheers to Monday – the least wine drinking day of the week – don’t tell Buddha.

Love + Light,

dd
